Overture to the novel: poetics of the initial pages of Oblomov

Abstract: The first pages of the novel Oblomov are analysed in the article. The analyst pays attention to appearance of storyteller and to chronotop of the home. The oppositions are revealed (exposed) which given by the novel's first chapters. Europa and Asia, types of culture which are embodied in appearances of heroes. The analysis of poetic of the first chapters allows author to speak about duality of the novel's artistic structure which represents a great number of the truth and not the only truth.
