Abstract: The problem of A.Tvardovsky's creative phenomenon is investigated in this article. The main products are the poem "Vasily Terkin" and poems from the book «Front chronicle». They are considered in correlation to atmosphere of military years which promoted clearing and liberation of poet's creative thought according to the author. The author shows how the author's point of view on war forms leading poetic intonation, defines an image of the main character but in the same time it isn't settled only «by a sight from below». Interaction of two points of view inherent to the hero national-soil (directed on action) and author's intellectual (focused on a reflection) defines an art originality of A.Tvardovsky's work and finds reflection in system of poetic means. The parallel analysis of "Vasily Terkin" and poems from «the Front chronicle» shows it.
