Abstract: Democratization of public life in Russia naturally reflected in the speech of native speakers of Russian. While some people believe that the rules of something are permanent and unchangeable, others believe that the language of the speech practice is behind the practice and you should use more slang. Normative lan-guage education, which is the basis of high school project “Modern Russian”, is intended to help to understand these complex issues. Within the project there is a whole series of areas that encourages interest in Russian language to its history, current situation and the speech rate. This is supported by creation of commercials on public transport, a series of pocket dictionaries and work of “emergency linguistic assistance”.
