Abstract: This article analyzes the motive of foolishness in Platonov’s play «Lyceum pupils.» Motivic analysis methodology is used, supplemented contextual. The motif of foolishness is considered at a number of character play: in the images fortress girl Masha and the old woman Thecla. Climbing their images to the archetype of foolishness manifested important for the artist category patience / humility, offers readers a genuine Platonov’s vision of man’s place in the world.
