Abstract: The article examines the role of academic discussion in creating an axiological direction in teaching Russian language. The features of academic discussion as a form of educational students’ activity are defined; the content of this activity is described through communicational roles of participants as well as the possibilities which such activity presents as a form of a lesson for high school student for forming of value-oriented attitude toward Russian language.
