Abstract: The article reviews a new teaching package “Stylistics, Standard of Speech and Translation Practice” for Chinese students learning Russian in non-native language environment. The article describes the package, which includes a textbook, tests in speaking, tests in translation from Chinese into Russian, a reader and a workbook. This article underlines that the urgency of this teaching package is determined by the necessity of development and perfection of teaching materials to form communicative competence of Chinese students in four activities in Russian — productive (speaking and writing) and reproductive (listening and reading). There is no doubt that Chinese language native speakers should be acquainted with all the levels of the Russian language, including communication in business, scientific, everyday and publicistic discourses. The article presents a description of the teaching package, the first part of which is a textbook that includes theoretical and practical material in all the four types of language activities, as well as the resources for translation practice and mistakes correction. The second part is a book of tests in translation from Chinese into Russian; each test correlates with a certain part of the textbook; these tests check lexico-grammatical and stylistic aspects of translations. The third part of the package is a reader to form reproductive language skills (listening and reading); it includes political, cultural, and publicistic texts that describe different spheres of Russian life. The workbook has the same units as the textbook and it develops skills in writing, translation, and mistakes correction to develop productive language skills. Moreover the article describes two units of the textbook in detail (“Reading” and “Writing”). It pays special attention to the features of intercultural material and tasks, which make the basis for good speaking skills formation.
