THE THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS AND THE CONTENT OF THE LINGUISTIC REGIONAL STUDY MODULE INTEGRATED IN THE SCHOOL COURSE "TRANSBAIKAL AREA STUDIES"

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to review the theoretical and methodological foundations and content of the linguisticcultural module developed by the authors in the integrated school course «Transbaikal Area Studies». The authors of the article believe that teaching of the linguistic regional studies module contributes to the activation of cognitive interest in pupils and ensures the development of cultural and linguistic competence for the active-minded person. The educational process should be organized on the basis of the linguistic and cultural approach to the content of the course and the system-activity approach using the basic methods: explanatory-illustrative, research and problem oriented. The material for the linguistic and cultural content of the linguistic regional study module is a regional lingual «picture of the world» presented in the regional variant of the national Russian language, particularly in the folk-speech of the local people in Transbaikal territory (Zabaikalye), in the local toponymy, in the monuments of regional writing, folklore, recorded in the dictionaries and described in scientific and popular scientific publications. The article presents the thematic planning of the content of the module using the linguistic and cultural perspective, which allows students to get acquainted with the history and culture of the country and the region through the regional facts of the language, including the peculiarities of the perception of the world and the system of national ethical values of residents in Transbaikal territory (Zabaikalye). The educational process on this module for the purpose of formation and development of the active-minded student is carried out on the basis of training and research type studies with the use of the methods of observation, collection and sampling of the linguistic material and the linguistic-cultural description of regional facts of the language using both traditional and innovative forms of teaching (lessons-excursions to the Museum of regional studies, ethnographic center or visiting an ancient village house for a meetingconversation with old-timers, using game technologies, interactive practices, etc.). Theoretical and methodological foundation of the linguistic module within the integrated school course «Transbaikal Area Studies» is a scientific contribution to the development of a common methodology for the conveying regional language material to a secondary school. The authors consider significant to examine the results of teaching linguistic regional studies within the proposed module «Living word of Transbaikal region (Zabaikalye)» in schools of Zabaikalsky Krai (Transbaikal territory).
