Abstract: This article is devoted to the study of the tendency of cyclization, which is one of the most productive in the modern literature of the Russian abroad. The authors argue that the phenomenon of cyclization, actualized in transitional, crisis-ridden epochs, is becoming a characteristic feature of the literature created in the post-Soviet space. The tendency under consideration is especially salient in periodicals; therefore, the study of literary cyclization in the article is carried out on the material of the maga-zine “Daugava”, which is one of the main Russian-language literary and publicistic publications that after 1991 became a non-ideological platform for Russian writers and poets of Latvia or former Latvians, living outside the metropolis. The practical research material under analysis comprises an unexplored corpus of prose works, demonstrating various cyclization options and the actual nature of this process (origins, forms of expression, inner laws and mechanisms). The article systematizes the material obtained by the method of continuous sampling. The built-up system makes it possible to assess the nature, the inner patterns and the results of the trend under study. The authors examine the options for the representation of the cyclization tendencies in prose (mixed con-text forms, cycle as a genre (super-genre or supra-genre) phenomenon, book as a type of artistic integrity) and identify popular types of cyclic units reflecting the authors’ orientation towards traditional or modern type of culture, or lean to a certain literary tradition or play with it, demonstrating artistic experiments based on synthesis of various kinds of art and different discursive This article is devoted to the study of the tendency of cyclization, which is one of the most productive in the modern literature of the Russian abroad.
