Abstract: The article explores interdependence of ethical awareness of the characters and social-historical reality. The author proves the impossibility of harmonizing the history and the being of an individual by analyzing the problems, the subject-matter, and the conflict in the play. The actions of the certain people and their results are found as true circumstances for other people’s lives. The “generation” principle is formed by the correlation of several plotlines connected with the life trials of two leading heroines. The futile search of unity among the people is manifested as an emphasis of the connection between social and existential aspects of the objective reality.
Key words: ETHICAL AWARENESS, INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS, PLOT, CONFLICT, COLLISIONS, GENERATION PRINCIPLE, SCENIC SPACE
