Abstract: The article presents a technique of surveying linguistic abilities of pre-school children and primary school pupils as well as diagnosing linguistic abilities of children with different forms of general speech deficiency. A concrete example of using the technique when working with bilingual students for the purpose of optimizing the correction-development process is featured.
