The Image of a Russian Officer in F.N. Glinka's Prose

Abstract: The article focuses on the meaning of being an officer as a specific cultural-historical phenomenon in Russia at the turn of XVIII-XIX centuries which brought about the emergence of a literary character of a new type. Having analyzed the peculiarities of the personal narrator's inner world as well as some elements of literary structure of Russian Officer's Letters by F.N. Glinka, the contributor arrives at the conclusion as to the Decembrist outlook which is artistically expressed in the work by the warrior writer.
