Cultural levels of the hero's “little psyche” in S. Beckett's “Yellow”

Abstract: The article considers the functions of philosophical, literary, biblical allusions in Samuel Beckett's novella “Yellow” (the novel “More Pricks than Kicks”, 1934). The contradictories of the image of Belaqua Shuah are revealed in a new way due to the allusions. The exposition of the novella helps to understand the whole story and the novel.
