The Event of Reading as the Purpose of Teaching Literature in the Contemporary Secondary School

Abstract: The main theme of this article is the “technology of slow reading”. The author of the article uses its own experience of this technology of teaching in the 9-th forms of the secondary school. The author considers that this method of reading may be one of the ways to file the contemporary schoolchildren to the culture of reading of the fiction literature. Approved methods of teaching shows that combination on two principles of choosing a work for joint reading with pupils — contextual proceeded from the teacher and motivated by the program for literature and from the other hand the choice and of desire pupils — promotes the teen-agers to immerse in reading of Russian classical literature with great interest. The key role in comprehension of the fiction literature at the lesson plays the traditional method of slow reading which allows to establish the dialogic (subject-subjective) relations among all participants of the event of the interpretation.
