Pragmatics of Explanation (Expressive Means in Popular Science Texts)

Abstract: The paper identifies the communicative-pragmatic factors motivating the specificity of explanation as a kind of reasoning. Analyzed the expressive means used in the popular science texts (mass-media) to be understood by the reader. Expressive means used in the explanation to be understood (metaphor paraphrasing, the appeal to personal experience).
