Abstract: Presented material can be used for performing a lesson or an out-of-school activity in the 5—6 grades in the end of the Lexicology topic. The author also includes it in speech skill practical training in the university course of declamation or culture of speech. This lesson is aimed: to train correct articulation of vowels and consonants, to train lyric poetry dramatic reading and feeling, to raise interest to Russian language and literature, to engage interest for dictionaries of different types, to develop children's vocabulary, and to develop their background knowledge. Articulatory warm-ups teach pupils to control their voice, release their psychological stress, and acquaint them with such folkloric units as tongue twisters. Through lyrics and play a child understands the necessity of getting acquainted with new words by studying different dictionaries. Homework not only trains his/her dictionaries work skills, but also sensitizes a pupil on serious minded communication with his/her family. Purposeful work on speech skills and on dramatic reading, including language information into a play, brings educational material closer to a child, shows importance and fun of reading fiction literature and encyclopedias.
