Scientific Marathon: German-Language Fiction of the 21st Century: The First Results (Samara, October 7, 2023)

Abstract: The review presents the results of the All-Russian online scientific conference “German-Language Prose: Literary and Research Practices of the First Decades of the 21st century”. The conference was held on October 7, 2023 by the Department of Ger- man Philology of Samara National Research University named after Academician S. P. Korolev (Samara University) in cooperation with the Center of Germanistics of the Department of Literatures of Europe and America of Modern Times of the IMLI RAS. The participants discussed urgent issues of the study of the latest German-language prose of the 21st century (principal thematic con- stants, literary creation and research strategies, etc.). The conference demonstrated the coordinated work of Germanists from many universities in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saratov, Voronezh, Tambov, Togliatti, Ivanovo). The work of the conference contributed to the formation of a unified scholarly and information space for studying the German-language literature, attracting young researchers in the future, and developing new topics that could be further dealt with in monographs and dissertations.
