The Expanding “Universe of Velimir Khlebnikov”: International Conference Dedicated to the Poet’s 140th Anniversary (Moscow, September 16–19, 2025)

Abstract: From September 16 to 19, 2025, A. M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State Linguistic University, and the Library for Foreign Literature hosted the International Conference “The Universe of Velimir Khlebnikov”, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the poet. The conference brought together 77 researchers, including 19 international participants from the China, USA, Italy, Brazil, Japan, Iran, France, and Greece. The program featured plenary sessions, five thematic panels, book presentations, and cultural events. The main areas of discussion included textual scholarship and commentary, poetics and philosophy, translation and reception, as well as publishing and cultural projects. The international composition of participants emphasized the universal significance of Khlebnikov’s legacy and the need for interdisciplinary research in the field of the Russian avant-garde.
