LEXICAL-SEMANTIC FIELD OF GOODNESS: COMMON AND NATIONAL-SPECIFIC (WITH REFERENCE TO RUSSIAN AND CHINESE LANGUAGES)

Abstract: The research accords with the interest of modern linguistics in revealing the characteristics
of national worldviews. The subject of this article is the lexical-semantic field of GOODNESS in Russian
and Chinese languages. The aim of the study is to reveal similarities and differences in the structure of this
field and the composition of its lexical representations. The article presents results of the structural-semantic study of the field GOODNESS in the lexical-semantic sphere of Russian and Chinese languages. The research uses a complex of linguistic methods: statistical description, component analysis of lexical meanings
of words in this field, definitional and comparative analysis. The article identifies and summarizes common
and national-specific components presented in the semantic complexes of the lexical-semantic groups of
the field in two compared languages. The research allows us to discover peculiarities of the semantization
of the meaning GOODNESS in the vocabulary of two languages and reveal the common and different ethnic-cultural ideas in its representation. The results of the research can be applied in linguistic-cultural and cognitive studies aimed at
studying language conceptualization and categorization of emotions in national pictures of the world, as well as in the practice of compiling bilingual ideographic dictionaries.
