Specific Features of the Conflict and Genre of the Play “The Cherry Orchard” by A. Chekhov

Abstract: The article contains useful tips for a school teacher of literature. It shows how novelty of the existential type of a conflict taken by Chekhov as a basis for his play “The Cherry Orchard” influenced the specificity of the action, and, ultimately, genre synthesis.
